At school, I see different ethnic groups,.. mexican, black, white, asian. however, it seems that most asian girls pride themselves by the number of "white" friends they have. other minority girls don't care about this as much. why?

hmmm really? Asians I knew stayed to their own for the most part, would only date other asians. guess it just depends on what area your from. Maybe they think of it as a measure of how much they fit in in this country

I've known asians from all over the spectrum. Where I am currently, most of the asians stick to their own and block everyone else out (for the most part. This is from personal exprience, I can't speak for everyone but...I think for some it's about not being seen like "the others". Blacks and Latinos don't always have the best sterotypes and are, to some, seen as being , difficult to deal with, or lowclass. I think for some people being white means money, power, and manners; if that's the case, then they want to be seen in a good light and are sterotyping other races as not being able to step out from the boxes they've put them in. The other thing that I've been told (by msome of my asian friends) is that they find lighter skin and hair more attractive. In both of these cases the people weren't worth anyones time (sterotyping, shallow) but until recently most Asians I've met have been cool. Hope this helps.
