  • Until World War 2 started WW1 was most often called The Great War, it was seen, at the time, to be the war to end wars; but we all know it didn't. I think World War 2 began to be called by that name while it was still under way. As for the situation now, no, I don't think it is World War 3, there aren't enough countries allied together on 2 opposing sides and actively fighting each other every day on a very large scale, after each country made an official declaration of war. Further, I hope it doesn't escalate.
  • that was only later. and present situation, no it can't be called ww3 because there is no major war going on or more number of countries involved or no mass destruction of equipment or people compared to ww1 or ww2. and hope that never happens. :) even if destruction is large but only few countries are involved that wuld not be called ww3.
  • World wars weren't numbered until WWII. And no, we're not in WWIII. There are many countries at war currently, but it is a bunch of mostly unrelated wars going on in the same general area.
