I might use it to type up a letter or something, but I wouldn't use it for personal email - the thought of the IT department being able to read my personal email is somewhat disturbing haha..
-
LOL what do you think? :)
-
Rarely. I just don't have the time. We are allowed to, with limitations, which is nice and reasonable. I don't know about anyone else, but my company does not pay me to surf the web all day.

No, no, no, no and no! I've recently been having a lot of problems with my email at home, which means I can't always respond to my emails that are sent to my normal accounts, including the one I use for Answerbag. Obviously this means I've been ignoring users emails (I can't read them), so I contemplated posting my company one on my profile with a message asking people only to use it if they really needed to, and not sending very 'personal' messages to me, as they can all be read by the IT department. But I figured I just couldn't bear the idea of those programmers snooping their way through my emails at all, so I've decided I won't use it!

My family only and only for important stuff. Our email is monitored and if you go where you are not suppose to, you can get written up.
-
I'm on it right now.... And they are ok with that
-
Heck yes I do! I'm here for hours. And my corporate email address is simple.
-
I do all the time,I own the company.
-
Any time I'm not activly engaged in work I use my company computer for personal use. I never shirk my duties to do personal stuff, but I have no problem checking e-mail or other such personal things at work. I believe that being allowed to attend to personal matters makes workers happier and more productive, where a draconian tyrant grip on computer use makes them unhappy and unproductive.

heck yes i do! i work for a call center fixing people's technical difficulties and when there isn't a que for calls we are allowed to surf the web and we are given a corporate e-mail so that we can easily recieve e-mails, and it is so nice especially on the weekend when there is few calls to just surf around on the net! i am at work now as i am writing this!

90% of my AB time is at work haha.

never.big brother is looking.

We are allowed to use the company computer for personal use during lunch hour, but with limitations. Broadband audio or videos are blocked. Ebay and many other sites, like ANSWERBAG are also blocked. Personal web mail is allowed.

We are on the honor system. We don't have an IT department and no one is spying. My family has my work email address and I check those emails at lunchtime. There are times (like this past week and the upcoming one) where I'm asked to help out with drudge work in another department, and when I'm doing that job, I'm allowed and encouraged to entertain myself by websurfing or playing online games to prevent a worker's comp claim for death by boredom!

Nah.
-
No, I do not. Seen it turn around and bite people in the tush way too many times. I have watched people greatly embarrassed over what they thought was innocent internet usage at work. Not worth it to me.. I feel more comfortable using the net on my dime and my pc.

All the time, the only time I can get on the computer at home is when my husband has gone somewhere. So I use my office computer to answer my e-mails, print off thing that I want such as patterns, etc. So far they are OK with it.
-
yes I did and I formatted my computer before I quit, now I am being sued - I'll win anyway, but just a pain in the ass.
