Why if you get hit on the forehead does it bleed so much?

    the face and scalp has a lot of blood flow for a number of reasons (hair growth, support high concentration of nerves, etc) when you receive an injury this large supply of blood is right near the surface ready to fountain everywhere.

    The skin of the face has a very large number of capillaries. Therefore, face wounds can seem to bleed excessively, even though the total amount of blood lost is small.
