I used to yes, that is what they are designed for I believe

No, I don't. My mother always said you could burn down the house down that way. Ok, well I have. If she were alive I would ask you to please not tell her. shhhhhhhh
-
I leave the crock pot on but not the oven.
-
Yes I do. Lighted cigerettes too. I also remove all the batteries in my smoke detectors.

No, but I do leave the house with my washing machine, dryer or dishwasher on. Apparently you are not supposed to do that. But I say, I want my labour saving devices to free me not just from labour, but from being stuck in the house all day long.... I don't want to spend my time babysitting inanimate objects. If they can't make them safe when I'm not there, why should I believe that they are safe when I am there?

Oven ? Never. Crockpot, often. It's a pretty safe appliance. It doesn't fall off an ironing board and burn a hole in your floor. It can't walk off the countertop. Set on low the heat is very minimal and not dangerous.

I would never leave the oven on. But I would leave the crockpot on. It's designed to be left on for hours and hours. (But, the fireman who lives across the street said he NEVER leaves home with anything left on.)
