a thick gardening glove is perfect for this, but it does not protect the upper arm. to help with the cats and getting them to the vet, try using a bigger dog cage and coaxing them in. This will make it easier to travel with them and it will help the vet to get him/her out of the cage without injury. Try working more with the cats and letting them get to know your aunt and feel more comfortable with her first though. It is better for the cat this way and future experiences.

You can look for a faloner's glove. My vet uses a very simliar thing, a leather glove that goes to about the elbow. You could call around to local veets to ask them how and where to get something like this.
