Although it's not an absolute, my theory tends to be accurate 97% of the time: Once someone threatens to end the relationship, it's doomed. Obviously, there are cases where this hasn't been the case, so far. If your s/o can't make up their mind about your relationship, then they probably want out of the relationship but don't have the guts to pull the trigger. My advice: confront them about it. Don't let them wiggle out of it. Make them tell you what they want for your future together.
