  • fetch are you crazy? what do i look like a dog! after getting hit in the head with crumpled up paper towels i can cAtch very well though now tell him to stop and leave me alone
  • She does! I was doing homework in Jr. High and threw a crumpled wad of paper to the bin and she chased after it, brought it back to me and waited for me to do it again! Now we do it at least a few times a week. :D
  • A grape dropped and rolled along the floor. Spooky, my white Persian, ran, retrieved it and dropped it at my feet. Naturally I thought this was an accident so tossed the grape again. She repeated the retrieve and appeared to enjoy the game. It all depends on the cat!
  • Nope. However, my cat is trained to sit, sit pretty, and lie down on command. And she USED to be leash trained, but I haven't had her on a leash for so long that in her old age she ISN'T interested in that any more!
  • First of all, cats don't play. They are serious about what they are doing. They are practicing for when they get something (or someone...you?) in a precarious position so that they can torture them. And, for sure, you aren't teaching that cat anything. The cat is all about teaching you! LOCLAB!
  • Yeah one does..he's just like a little dog..I never taught him..he just started doing it one day and that as it..
  • i have one cat that would fetch paper clips and bring them back to me at my desk. he was an attentive administrative assistant! a total natural ~ didnt even have to train him.
  • No he doesn't (I'm sure he would think it is pointless), but he knows both aural and visual signals for come, sit, lays down, and stay.
  • Mine doesn't, but both of my ex girlfriend's cats go after milk rings, you know, the little plastic rings off of the tops of milk jugs?
  • When she was a Kitten, I tied her toy to a string and threw it on top of a cushion that was leaning up against a wall. She would go get it then bring it back to me to throw again. After that just throwing it anywhere she would fetch.
  • I had a male cat last year (he went missing and never returned *I miss him*) that loved to play fetch. He just one day started bringing back a wadded up paper that I threw (not for the cat) and drop it on my lap or at my feet. It's funny because he used to take paper money and run so he could play with it in the basement, alone.
  • Yes we3've had several cats play fetch with us. Our youngest cat is relentless in dong this. He will keep it up for hours either if we bring out a favorite toy or if he finds something he likes, he'll bring it to us. Then we can happily thrown it for him for the next two hours LOL!!! We never taught him, just rolled a ball for him and then he brought it back to us.
