Do you have dial-up? If you have dial-up every time you connect to the internet it's utilizing a different ISP #, but if you have a cable connection it is always the same.

Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is the company you pay for Internet access, like Verizon or Cox Cable. As as long as you stay with that company, your ISP won't change. For your IP (Internet protocol) address - an IP address is a series of numbers like 168-104-89-452 (made up) that identifies your computer to other computers on the Internet. If you have a DSL connection, you can change your IP address by disconnecting the phone and power cords from your DSL modem for several hours. (Overnight is good) Later, when you fire up the modem and get back online, your computer should have a new IP address. To verify the change: before disconnecting your DSL modem, get your IP address here http://www.whatismyip.com. Write it down. Then, in a few hours when you come back online, go back to that website and see if your IP address has changed. Did I answer your question? (Sorry for rambling!)
