No, it calms the nerves and causes a short lived feeling of euphoria. The only harm that can come with smoking pot is the stupid shit that you do when you're high. Example:

Studies done in the Netherlands on long term use of weed showed health issues in users. The one I remember from my reading is that guys' testicles shrank significantly. Weird. I don't think it is a good idea to use it a lot. It is a chemical you're putting in your body. Any chemical over time can cause damage.

It is obvious that some people have not really STUDIED the effect of Marijuana .... Marijuaina CAN cause psycotic and manic episodes with extended use and over use or BOTH .... Also; as with tobaccco products ; it can cause damage to the vessels of the groin leading to IMPOTENCE .. and in MANY cases Shrinkage of the penis and testicles ..... I do not believe that sharing a joint once or twice a week is too harmful .... BUT; then you get your folks who do it in excess .. Have to smoke EVERYDAY or Several Times a day .... and those are the ones who get damaged ... weather they want to believe it or not ... Just do the research !! Of course; Alcohol is WORSE ... in my opinion ... not as many auto accident using weed as alcohol ... and not as many physical confrontations on weed as with alcohol ....

No, not really, and if any harmful effect were to become serious, you'd probably already be at an age where death is rite around the corner so it really wouldnt matter anyways, because even if you dont touch drugs and alcohol, or medicine , and dont smoke marijuana or tobacco, and even never caught a whiff off secondhand smoke, your still going to die and that is a deffinite fact of being alive. So the whole issue is really just the governments way, or who evers running the programs way, of saying F**k YOU!

In relative terms to some very common things consume or use, no. However, ANY smoke going in your lungs is not good for you. The smoke has to do some damage. Lungs were simply not designed to inhale smoke.
