What happens if you put kerosene in a gas engine.

Kerosene is similar to diesel fuel. I doubt if will run at all in a gasoline engine. You will probably have to flush out the the fuel delivery system and remove as much as possible from the tank. I don't think it will damage anything, although the spark plugs will probably need cleaning/drying. Putting gasoline in a diesel engine would be much worse.
