Seeing how long "separate but equal" was falsely accepted as providing racial equality, I don't think the GLBT community should compromise. Full equality should be the objective.

no!... why only go half way with only half the legal rights .. its full Marriage and ALL the rights of Marriage or nothing. Civil Unions still make Gay/Lesbian people second class citizens in the eyes of the law
