  • Not any of mine, but schools within an hour of here. I got whooping cough in high school, and it causes 600,000 deaths per year. They didn't close my school, though the german teacher coughed all over us for nearly a month. (It's also super contagious, so they *did* close a neighboring school for a week when about 30 kids came down with it. A week, to give everyone time to get tested and begin antibiotics if necessary, so they'd not be contagious when they got back). This just seems really dumb to me. "Oh no! A virus! It's just a stronger version of a disease that already exists and everybody takes in stride, and it's super rare in comparison, but we need to close the schools! eee!"

  • I only know of one in a 20 mile radius. And that is a magnet school, some students visited Mexico on Spring Break.
