What the media provides for us to read, hear or watch depends 100% on what the reporter chooses to report and what portion of the report the editor chooses to publish. Because a story or topic is in the news does not necessarily make it news. The news is what we perceive to be news to be and we've been conditioned to believe when the media says it's news then it's news. I'd almost be willing to bet you breakfast at I-Hop that if someone disputed Palins choise to crack an egg at the large end instead of the small one and the media picked up on it, in three weeks time it would be an issue. Imagine how they woulddeal with it on "The View". "Jerry Springer" would invent something and "Ophra" would probably do a whole show about 'traumatizing the yolk...' Constant repitition causes one to become desensitized and if something is repeated often enough it becomes true. (Please note that this sentence is telling you the same thing twice.) Dont believe more than 25% of what you hear and 50% of what you see

Failed presidential candidates tend to recede into the background when they lose. What is Michael Dukakis up to these days? The attention to Palin was not really so much about her candidacy as much as it was about her as a cultural icon. Even now, most of the stories are barely above the level of tabloid.

She isn't hogging attention. The libral media is simply following her every move and attacking every decision she has made.
