After we die we are told we will have to answer to God for what we do while we are living on Earth, but without a brain, we will have no memory or be able to think; without a body we won't be able to respond. How do we "answer to God?"

Then someone told you wrong! After you die at some point in time you will be resurrected. At that time you will have a chance to know the true way of God and see how it works. Then if you decide you don't want to exist, so be it! The very thought of you and your life will be extinguished.

All of these things you have mentioned are physical in nature and will die... Your Soul is eternal and will not die... your Soul is Awareness which is who you are.... When you leave your physical body behind, you will have your spiritual body, your energy body that you will reside in til you incarnate into another body. How we answer to God is in Gods Hands. Thoughts are instantly known through telepathy. You won't need your physical body and it's parts to communicate.

Exactly! And the other thing is the "burning in hell". This cannot be taken literally since there will be no physical body to literally "burn". But don't be shocked by the jaw-dropping arguments presented by the peddlers of such a teaching to harmonize away something so incompatible with reasonableness.
