  • You can be baptized as many times as you feel necessary to revive your faith, but you are baptized "a child of god" not any religion in particular. It doesn't matter who baptized you for what reason other than that you are now a child of god. If you want to declare a particular religion that is totally separate altogether and being baptized is a prerequosit.
  • Only you can make the Baptism choice for yourself. I am Lutheran myself, and there are a lot of things that Catholics believe in an worship that the Lutherans do not. I personally would want to be baptized in a church of the faith that I felt I would be practicing for the rest of my life. So if you are now a practicing Lutheran, I would go for it and be re-baptized as a Protestant.
  • The choice is really just up to you, I decided that I wanted to move foward in my faith so i went out and looked to see what I would have to do to get baptised....For me it was a personal thing, One day I just randomly went up to my pastor and asked him what I would have to do to get baptised....To this day I do not know what pushed me to do so..But I am very happy that I made the move to do this This would be a great thing and i really think that you should go for it.... Good luck! I hope this helps "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire." I'm not sure where in the bible it's from but there's a verse for you
  • Lutherans will accept your first baptism because it is God who does the work and claimed you as His own. However, if you want, you can ask to be rebaptized by the Lutherans, though it is not needed.
  • well, baptism- means is to plunge and immerse, or deep the one the catholic are using is not a baptism but it is rantizo this is a greek word means sprinkling or pouring, so you haven't batize yet.
  • Baptism is a sign and an act of obedience. If you personally did not choose baptism yet, you should either be baptized or 'affirmed', which I assume means being 'rebaptized'. Your original baptism was a wonderful sign of your parents [or grandparents'] faith. Now it's your turn.
  • Talk to your pastor. But my opinion is that someone who is Baptized as a baby, isn't really Baptized. You need to accept Jesus, and know what it means to be Baptized. A baby cannot do those things.
  • You don't need to be re-batpized. Ex opere operato means "from the work performed." Basically, this means that the sacrament is bestowed upon you equally no matter the reasons behind it. It doesn't matter the motives behind the baptism nor whether you still accept Roman Catholicism, it just matters that the sacrament was performed.
  • baptism is an outward acknowledgment to the world that you are a christian. God knows your heart, he doesnt care whether or not you got baptized. If you feel lead to be rebaptized, then by all means do it. If you feel like you want to outwardly announce to everyone that you are a new man/woman and have been washed clean from all your sins, then do it. but if you feel like you are being obligated to by others, then no. or if you feel like God knows your heart and doesnt need you to, then dont do it. But it is all between you and God. It has nothing to do with denominations, it is still the same God, forever unchanging, he is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Thank goodness for that!
  • My dad would church hop while I was growing up. I think I can remember being a member of just about every single denomination out there, and I was baptized over and over and over again. I've been baptized over 40 times!! But there came a day when I got baptized because I wanted to, not because my dad was milking some church out of everything he could get from them.
  • You could be. I was baptized as an infant. Then, when I was a member of the Mormon church, I was baptized, again. Then, when I denounced the Mormon church and joined a Nazarene church, I had myself baptized, again! Baptism is a public statement of your faith. Go and be baptized!
  • If you don't feel you were baptized for the right reasons, then you should probably ask to be rebaptized.
  • You have faith, and that is all that matters in God's eyes.
  • Yes.Infant baptism is not biblical. You get baptised after you're saved. If 1John describes you then you are saved,if not then you are not.If 1 Corinthians 6:9,10,if you practice those sins. Then you are not saved.
