I don't believe in anything. Or at least, I do my best to root out beliefs when I discover them. Socialism is like any -ism: the believers get blinded by false certainty and the numbing comfort of having all the answers, without that messy anxiety that comes from having to solve problems that don't fit any cookie-cutter solution. If someone held a gun to my head and required me to believe in something, I'd choose "clear-headed thinking, free from the prisons of ideology". That isn't an -ism, it's a commitment to being oneself.

Yes i do. I believe it is the second best form of government after Communism. I believe it can work with the right people (no capitalists or republicans). And i believe it is the most humane compassionate and christian like form of government.

I strongly agree with certain fundamental aspects of Socialism, but I subscribe to no particular -ism in entirety. From a European perspective though, it does seem like the American rightwing don't actually know what socialism is.
