Because they get kudos and brownie points from their church pastors if they bring non-christian friends to church (fresh meat for the harvest).
-
Why do all people who dont believe in God make gross generalizations about people who do believe in God?
-
did you ever consider that YOU are a very significant and integral part (however small and seemingly insignificant) of the same design and plan as everyone else? unknowingly(to the non follower) the world from creation has had a counter idea to positive(negative) which has instued man with a sense of SELF rather than EVERYONE ELSE. Ask what good you would have been if you hadn't been created! Then start to seek TRUTH!

Because all believers hurt for the non believers and want to share heaven with you.

I think I have answered this once before for someone. There are just some people out there (in all religions) who just can't leave it alone. I don't know I can't understand it either. I guess they just feel so strongly about it that to them noone els's opinion matters and they will have it no other way. I am a Christian and believe me I am not like that and it really irritates me when they act that way. It is mostly the one's who are hard core believer's of their religion. By the way...there are different types of Christians out there so don't judge all Christains the same. =) People don't relized that and catagorize us all the same. SOOO not true. lol Have a great day!

It gives them some kind of security to know that they are not alone with their distorted beliefs. So they try and put it on us whether we want to hear it or not. For me personally, Its going to take a whole hell of a lot to believe that there is an invisable man in the sky that is all knowing and sees everything and who loves us all. But also has a place for you if you dont follow these 10 rules were you will burn for all eternity. Give me a break. I worship the sun like George Carlin. At least we can see that.

I dont really have an answer but totally agree with you.

Because sheeple, are afraid of those who are different. It makes them uneasy to see those who are happy, yet are not members of their own belief system. And it makes it more difficult for them to justify such beliefs to thier kids whom ask embarassing questions.

Think about the person you love most in the world. Imagine if that person had a terminal disease, and all he/she had to do to be cured would be to drink some Magic Kool-Aid. Yet, he/she didn't believe that the Magic Kool-Aid would work, so he/she refused to drink it. Can you imagine just how hard you would try to get your loved one to drink the Magic Kool-Aid? Many religious fundamentalists have a similar view of people who are not 'saved'. If I believed in a particular religious teaching that strongly, I'd probably behave similarly. . . .

I don't know why they do it, a few people have justified it to me by saying that they found something amazing and they just want to share it with everyone and they think they are helping us. I think maybe some feel that way but I think many of them feel like they are superior and by trying to convert non-believers they are acting as the hand of God, which is completely ridiculous. As I have said numerous times, you don't see groups of Atheists that go around and berate religious people for their beliefs. Most of us know and accept that different people have different beliefs but that doesn't make them bad people. But I feel that many religious people don't understand our beliefs and see us all as bad people that do bad things.

everybody has opinions, just like all have a**holes.

If you saw a blind man wandering toward the edge of a cliff, would you just leave him alone or would you try to warn him that he was head toward a certain death? Decent people would try to warn the blind man about the cliff. Religious people see religion in the same light. We believe that we have something that will lead to greater happiness and less sorrow in this life and in the life to come. Thus, we want to warn those that don't believe as we do of the looming spiritual cliff lest they fall over it. It is, of course your choice as to whether or not you accept the warning, but religious people share their beliefs with others because we are concerned about your eternal well-being.

Your premise is not exactly true. I believe in God and I don't care who else does or doesn't. But here's my guess..and I'm using food as an analogy. When I am eating something that is totally delicious, I want to share it with others..I don't want to just enjoy it myself. I think that is what the underlying reason is...those who believe find joy and want to share that joy. That is all it is..very simple. Just ignore them. They can't hurt you. Meanwhile, don't assume we are all out to convert you. We aren't. Many of us don't care one way or the other. You're on your own, you do what you want and think what you want..no skin off my nose! Happy Saturday! :)
