This is not necessarily true. It may not hurt at all and you hymen could very well stay intact until it is removed during your first delivery. This a question that is really very much up to your body type and the type of first experience you have. If your first time is in the back seat of a car as rushed as possible so you don't get caught, then yes it will more than likely hurt. However if your first time is in a controlled environment like a bed room and there is foreplay and lubrication involved it will most likely not hurt at all.
