  • You probably have an automatic transmission? Have you noticed the car runnning incorrectly and when was the last time you had the transmission fluid changed and filter changed?
  • Either you have a bad sensor or... has the transmission ever been replaced? It's a long shot, but here is my reasoning. The S-series will shoot the differential pin out if you EVER spin one wheel, as you might on ice r in snow or mud. This will eventually lead to needing a new transmission. It's common, or at least far more common than anyone wants to admit. However the SL2 uses a different one from the SL1; the engine's powerband is different and requires different gear ratios. One shop thinking, "Hey, a Saturn is a Saturn!" will lead to a mixup.
  • Well I personally have a 97' Saturn SL2 and i had the same exact code and this led to further problems. The differential gears ended up coming out of the transmission leading up to the replacement of the transmission. Just keep an eye on it, but you will eventually have to replace it.
