Yes, we really have to get the large corporations and the super wealthy under control and bring in a little socialism to make this a better nation.

Yes I do and also the fact that many want to argue what it was founded on as well, the main thing that would make sense is more sense for Americans to be happy for their freedom that was fought for because we could be living under different rule and have no freedom

I know what my Country was founded upon:) I am not proud of it.. Where should I start.. The American Revolution Pontiac's Rebellion The Boston Tea Party The War of 1812? Brown vs The Board of Education Tecumsah's Indian Movement What??..do you want me to burn my bra??:) America is sometimes not the best place.. but then again its not so bad:):)

ahh yes, the principles of classic liberalism. well you see sometime americans have to sacrifise in order to preserve the nation. you see the founding fathers did think about that which is why we have a republic and not a complete democracy. also the establishment of the necessary and proper clause forsees the fact that some times you must instill the principles of classical republicanism, which is sacrifising for the greater good along the lines of the bailout, which i assume you are allouring too, the founding fathers knew that pure capitalism was flawed, so they put the commerce clause in constitution

Concerning history, not everyone knows about it, and those who think they know often know only a part of it. Often it is worse to have false knowledge than no knowledge at all. Moreover, what we learn from history is that we don't learn from history. As to those threats, people with different points of view will probably see them somewhere else.

What I find truly incredible is the complete ignorance that so many Conservatives display with the utter lack of good judgment concerning America. We've just got done with 8 years of republican control of America, and all they can do is complain. Complain about the Big Bad Government, that they helped create into the monstrosity it is. They choose to ignore their own depredations: Torture, Draft Dodging, Sex Slavery, Ignoring Bin Laden, exporting American Jobs, and instead create boogeymen in an effort to scare the American people into voting against an honorable man. Lie to yourself all you want Tex. It's a free country. But you're not gonna get away with lying to the rest of us.

the greed and self serving interests are in one group of politics...they have not an ounce of compassion, common sense, or moral character...its what my country can do for ME and not what I can do for my country....give em back their money and freedom and get a respectable job ..in my view..but thats ..:)justme

Yes, I do. And that is why I am glad that Bush and (especially) his cronies are gone! Our country was founded on freedom. Our forefathers wanted a nation where one could worship in a manner other than the official, state-sponsored one without fear of prosecution or persecution. They envisioned a nation of law, where citizens didn't have to worry about the government breaking down their door or otherwise invading their privacy "just because"; they could only do so if/when they proved just cause, something that would stand up in a court of law. They envisioned a balance of powers that would prevent any one person or organization from becoming a tyrant. That includes each branch having oversight and being allowed to question the actions of the others. And didn't most of the corporate greed and self-ineterst happen BEFORE Obama even sought the Democratic nomination?
