  • You can believe that Jesus existed like any other historical figured without believing he was a God.
  • There's plenty of evidence that Caesar(s) and Alexander existed, beyond just written testimony. Not as much for the other two.
  • umm, there are mounds of evidence that ceasar and alexander existed. what the heck are you talking about? I do believe that Jesus existed, and there IS evidence of his existance, just no evidence that he is the son of GOD. The dead sea scrolls were written by Jesus; he was obviously alive.
  • All the evidence for Jesus comes from one book, collected together by one working group, who selected and rejected by rules based on their beliefs. Caesar, Alexander and Mohammed are documents by hundreds of different and independent sources, many of them their enemies. We don't know that he had witnesses: all we know is that people tens of years after he died/disappeared said that he had witnesses. Nonetheless, I think that it is probably that Jesus existed. He may well have been crucified. He may even have survived the crucifixion. All of which would prove absolutely nothing, other than that I do not understand every single detail of the world. Even if these three facts were true, I do not see it proving in the slightest the existence of God, let alone the nature of that God or what that God wants.
  • There is physical evidence regarding Julius Caesar (and quite a few other Roman rulers), in the form of statues. There also exists documents etc. written by their own hand. None of that exists for Jesus. Personally I would say a charismatic preacher/healer named jesus probably existed at the time, but that in no way establishes the truth of what has been said about him in the accounts chosen for inclusion in the bible. You make claims like "only son of the only god" and you will need some pretty extraordinary evidence to back that up. For one thing, you need to establish that there actually IS a god, only one, name of jehovah or yahweh and with a fondness for jews. There are literally hundreds of thousands of gods to choose from...
  • There is solid proof Caesar and Alexander the Great existed: personal diary entries, statues, official records. It seems as if you picked these people randomly out of a hat, as Caesar and Alexander were political and historical figures, not prophets or messiahs.
  • The written records of Caesar, Alexander, and Mohammed were written by his actual contemporaries - not people that lived decades later. I was born in 1985. It would be the equivalent of me writing a document proclaiming the life and times of Marilyn Monroe - and using that as sole evidence of her existence.
  • i was gonna write a long response but its a waste of my time. your being an idiot.
  • Yeah but how many people have claimed that Caesar or Alexander were born of a virgin and a god thru an inmaculate conception? How many people claimed that either one of them died and came back to life? How many people have claimed that either one of them fed a crowd of people with a loaf of bread? See, that's the difference, therefore, the credibility of the issue
