Help answer this question below.

My 1991 ford explorer, 4WD, when in 4WD will shimmy when I make a hard turn either left or right. Any thoughts?

    if your not on a slippery surface one that will give under the tires this will happen in 4wd. it's called torque windup. when driving the front wheels straight the trans put torque equally, when you turn the wheel it creates resistance so torque builds up and 'snaps' the wheel forward

    I bet it stops if U don't do that??? Poor design, U could put stabilizers on it for $75. John
