Use a secret language when you don't want your kids to find out what you're saying----eg., Instead of saying "I made appointments for the children to get their flu shots next week", I say "The pokey-pokes for the tikey-tikes are on the 25th!"

Tell the truth and you get punished. Thinking for yourself is bad. Everybody sucks but dad, even your siblings. I had a VERY step-father like step-father.

Parenthood is not for the faint of heart. I WISH I could say it has taught me patience, but I'm afraid all it has taught me is I am not cut out for the job. ;(

Patience, and the ability to open a door with a screaming baby in one hand and a diaperbag, three bags of groceries, a wet wipes box, and a sippy cup in the other while herding your other two wild children in the door. :o)It also taught me to pick my battles and to know how to smile even on a bad day.
