  • I'm an ELCA member so I'm pretty qualified. The theological differences arn't really that different. I think the UCC may not belive that homosexuality is a sin and most of the ELCA does (although the jury is still out in the national organziation) The main difference I would say is probably in the worship services. Any Lutheran service still has somewhat of a Roman Catholic feel to it. I belive the UCC and the ELCA have a full communion relationship so its not like there are a lot of differences. I'd say the ELCA is slightly more conservative then the UCC but in the whole line of Christian churches they are both on the left, although the ELCA is more mid left.
