  • That's a very good, yet very discomforting question. I really hope inflation levels never reach that high, and I do believe (but perhaps it's just wishful thinking) steps would be taken by the government if such extraordinary consequences would ever come across. I have my fingers crossed, anyway.

  • Probably. The greedy rich politicians keep taking more and more and giving back less and less. Pretty soon the USA will have only two classes-rich and poor. And as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer it is only going to cause more problems between people.
  • We've been there twice. The first time was called The Great Depression. The second time was called the Carter Administration.
  • What Americans know to do.. "REFORM" and make it again possible.
  • Ever see the movie "Gattaca"? I think the world will eventually end up with "valids" and "invalids". Valids being the people with money, good credit, no legal blemishes, and connections to power. Invalids will make up the majority of the population who suffer from lack of education, blemished credit and/or background and meaningless low paying jobs.
  • I believe we are on the precipice of this exact situation - sadly, we are in for tough times ahead.
  • In the late 1930's in Germany, it has happened, with a loaf of bread costing a wheelbarrowfull of currency, prices doubling every few hours, and a newspaper cost a million marks, then about US$.05. The USA might be heading that way, only less rapidly.
  • I don't think so only because we are all connected. As we have recently experienced, when life get too tough for a majority of people, spending stops and so does investing and it hurts everyone at all income levels.
