  • I have no idea. I tried answering this question twice, and this is what I ended up with. There's no justification, lol.
  • If you don't become engrossed in the movie and it doesn't affect your emotions, then it isn't a good movie. :)
  • Not sure why it is but I cry at everything Sad Films, Happy Films, People having success and failure. News items make me cry and seeing Athletes win or somebody doing something really well they all make me cry. In fact i am a regular cry baby for other people but have trouble allowing myself to cry for myself So it does not really matter if I know it is just a movie the emotion is there
  • More interesting is that it must be making us happy too when we watch happy movies. That means reality does not control our moods, instead, we can create happiness by visualizing positive thoughts (or watch it on screen - even better!)
  • It gives them a chance to get in touch with their emotion's - which is great
  • A GOOD/GREAT movie WILL draw you into it emotionally. You feel for the characters, no matter what the situation. How many times in a movie have you seen some bad guy get payback or have someone's revenge wreaked upon them, and you cheered inside (and outside too). Many times you will experience a wide range of emotions in one movie. Including FEAR.............hehehehe
  • A lot of the time I cry at a movie because it brings up memories of the past that were either very painful, or really wonderful.
  • We are sympathetic to the characters & it hurts our feelings because we are unable to help them. We sometimes picture ourselves where they are & the challenges they are going through & imagine how they must be suffering. Or the overwelming joy we would feel to have something that good happen to us. Though it stays in our minds for a while we know once we quit watching it we can leave & go to our happy place!! I get so choked up when i watch most of disneys cartoon movies with animals, lord help me fight back the tears when the lil critters get killed or seperated from their parents. I have to shut up now feel the eyes getting full
  • I cry because I am able to apply those feelings to things in my life and it just sort of takes over.
  • because you get so into the movie that it seems real. or maybe because it happened to someone and it reminded them and makes them cry.
  • The movie must really touch their hearts and sways them in a specific way.
  • I think the people who cry in movies are generally very empathetic people so they are naturually able to relate to someone elses pain/happiness even if its only fictional.
  • Cause you have feelings and its good. It means you'd help a person when something bad will happen. Those who won't cry, probably lack some feelings and will think "meh, those people just make problems for themselves" when something bad happens.
  • I cry because if I become very engrossed in a movie, I start to really feel for the characters involved.
