Many things can get you kicked out. Not following orders several times can do it. striking a superior officer. Most offenses may also cause you to be placed in prison before your dishonestly discharged. and of course medical reasons will get you out.

Drugs will get you thrown out in a heartbeat. I lost two good soldiers to drug use.

He/she undoubtedly did something that broke the rules. I suppose there are a lot of rules in the armed services and one would be expected to toe the line, follow the rules, not make waves. :) Perhaps it was a lie..about age or whatever. Could have been anything! :)
