Talk to a lawyer to see what your options are.
-
YES.. just because something happened a long time ago doesnt mean it wasnt a crime.. http://www.abuse-survivors.org.uk/ contact these guys :O) ..good luck xx
-
Yes there is no statute on abuse .If you suffered as a child you are entitled to face your abuser in a court.
-
I don't know if you are asking about help{anything} for the abused or charges against the abuser. My first thought is yes on both counts but myself I would be more concerned about help for the abused since by your question it seems to be a concern. As to the abuser I would only proceed only if I believed it would help the victium with closure and / or you was concerned with it be repeated with others.

If the other person could still be a danger to others, then contact a lawyer and explain to them what happened and when. If not, then forget about it, forgive them and just move on, letting go of the power those people have over your emotions and thoughts. IN fact, even if the first option is true, still forgive them so you can move on in a healthy sane manner.

I have never been in that situation so I have no idea what kind of emotion is involved here. I think I would report it immediately and not suffer silently over the years. But I don't know. If there is a statute of limitations in terms of punishment, then waiting years to say anything removes that option. If one is haunted by it and cannot let it go, I think professional help is needed. Since I've never been there, I can't really ever know the great damage that is done..I can only guess.

if you have proof of it - sure, exposure never expires

The only problem is the sentence received is as laid out at the time of the offence. Modern day sentences for sexual abuse are much more severe. Good luck anyway and hope all is well now
-
If you want to punish the person who did it, you can hire a lawyer who will know the proper action to take. If you need help with your own feelings about it, you need to see a counselor. It's never too late to get help.

Statutes of Limitation on sexual abuse, is different for each state. http://www.smith-lawfirm.com/statutestable.html ***The most important thing you can do, is get help for yourself.
-
You can because there is no statute of limitations. It is a hard thing to face after so long. For me, I have chosen to leave it in the past and never have contact.
