  • No--one nation under God.
  • Absolutely. The Buybull thing should also be done away with
  • While I am a Christian, it would seem to me that by invoking Christian beliefs on others who are not Christians would exclude some people and I dont htink that is what America is supposed to be about. Wow did I say that...? I almost sounded like Im smart.. heheh :)
  • Dont even get me started with this! I am a die -hard American who believes the old ways. This country was built on Godly ways and should remain that way. We are the country we are because of this. We have become to "sensitive" not to offend anyone. We should not conform, For those who dont like it.....move back to where you came from.
  • While this is a secular country, this isn't about what we feel should constitute an oath, it's whatever the oath taker feels constitutes an oath. If he were Muslim, he would most certainly wish to modify the oath to something of significance. It is not the wording of the oath that is important, it is the personal significance to the person taking it.
  • The whole PC thing has run it's course, i think we should be asking for God's help, especially in these trying times. I vote, keep it in. If you don't like it, pray to your own higher being during that time.
  • I thought Muslims prayed
  • Amen to that
  • Nah. It makes a lot of people feel good and it really doesn't hurt those who don't belive. They just say it does.
  • Why? Do you think what was good enough for every president since FDR isn't good enough anymore? Do you think that when Obama is sworn in, he should skip the "So help me God" codicil? Why should the President of the United States pander to the small group of atheists who have a problem with prayer. If you believe in God, you know every president can use all the help he can get. If you don't believe in God, it's just a waste of air. Take another breath and get over it.
  • I do. However I'm realistic and I know it won't be. Christians are too big a voting block.
  • George Washington started with saying so help me God. He felt it was worthy and humbling to ask for God's help. Benjamin Franklin broke the stalemate during the Constitutional Convention by asking for the men to ask for God's guidance at the beginning of every session. Congress has started every session with prayer since. Is Obama better than these men or more PC? I hope and pray that this country turns to God more often and let Him guide us instead of what we got in Washington DC.If God exists then we are in His favor. If God doesn't exist then we have lost nothing but saying a prayer that makes most feel good.I say...let it be said.
