I was in New Orleans the week before Katrina, and we took a streetcar ride at dusk up the St. Charles line. It was interesting historically, the streetcars were amazingly restored and the scenery was wonderful. It was my last night there and I didn't think to bring a camera, and I think in retrospect I would have brought one and photographed some of the old homes, the streetcars, etc. Now after the storm, so much of the city has changed, and the St. Charles line was heavily damaged... so I regret that a lot, because some of the best parts of NO are off Bourbon, and so many people don't see that.

LOTS of things: When I met some presidents years ago, the look on my wife's face when I finally handed her the divorce papers, my father before he died when he was still feeling fairly OK, etc.
