Do you honestly believe that IQ is an accurate reflection of a persons intelligence?

IQ is an assesstment tool, and any such tool is prone to error. I think that it does score well for people that think in a certain way, but it restricts itself to a fairly narrow view of intelligence... For example I usually score quite well, but then i do primarily technical, logic, mathematics programming etc. Where as some artistic friends of mine score quite poorly. This is just a reflextion of different ways of thinking, not really what i would call intelligence. so.. i guess.. no.. no i don't.

no, it only reflects a narrow part of the person - I knew a team of "genuis" at tektronics many years ago that built custom spy gear for the top bidder but not a one of them could change a flat tire in less than 12 hours, we would just look out the window and laugh then call them a taxi - again

Only a person with a really high IQ can answer that question.

IQ tests only measures one's ability at IQ tests not intelligence. I have an IQ of around 170 and trust me, I make dumb mistakes, get stupid things wrong and still can't find my way around a cell phone. It really doesn't amount to a damn thing.

Not at all, it's simply a model. It fluctuates depending on our state. It's no more accurate than a multivitamin is an accurate model of all the nutrients our body needs.

Being thick as a plank of wood I'd allways say no but on the serious side I'd say it takes all sorts to make this world go around. If people like brainy people then yes IQ is important. if people like muscles then Oh yeah, etc, etc.See what I mean. Takes all sorts

An IQ only tests your overall capability to think and problem solve. To say an IQ score reflects a person's intelligence is illogical.
