I dunno. I keep asking myself the same thing over and over again. The sad thing in these situations is that the very same ones who oppose a person's right to choose, would never, ever so much as lift a finger to help that person in distress

I get what you're saying, I suppose this is an over populated world in the first place anyway.

yes there should be. It is my life and I should be able to decide when and where and HOW I wish to die. I should not have to continue to suffer mental and physical pain for the rest of my life JUST because some people think it's wrong. I think the ones who expect a person who is miserable to live are the selfish ones

Yes. I am a pro-choice. My 2 cents.

there is too much medical assistance . if the body is tired /sick and not able to recover. i agree totally with Euthanasia .and should be free choice. true we all wish to live longer but with quality . if we get to the vegetable stage make soup out of me . if some are willing to pay with their own funds to try and live forever no problems . but keeping expensively alive lost causes on public funds should stop. and better spend the money on more prevention and education.

If nothing else at all, you ought to have control over your own body.

It's far too likely that opinions will change, including those about whether life is worth living or not. Suicide is irrevocable, and you'll never know whether you would have had a better outlook on life later on. Refusing people the legal right to comitt suicide is not "forcing them to continue living." If they are determined to kill themselves, they will find a way, but I do NOT think we should encourage them. Life is the only counter-entropic thing we know of, and we should not allow it to be thrown away lightly. Legalized suicide would contribute to what many see as a continually increasing indifference to life.
-
No...but only because you threw in the phrase "whatever the reason." Obviously it would not be a good idea to provide the means of death to someone who is in a fragile mental state that might reasonably be expected to improve. However I DO think that this option for a dignified death should be available to terminally ill people, or anyone who can establish that they are making a well-thought out, sober decision.

Not for whatever reason. If the person is terminally ill, then they DEFINITELY should have the right to end their lives. With as much assistance available to them.
