No, they couldn't fly that far a distance, and had no refueling possibilities along the way, thats why Pearl Harbor got bombed. Even then they were comocozy pilots because they couldn't make it back home again with the fuel they had. Good thing for the USA, because the most protection we had on our Pacific Coast would have been a couple of boy scout troops...

Not any actualy attack from a plain or ship, however they did send air balloons that had bombs attached to them and there were a couple incidents where people were killed by these bombs. Most went into the ocean. (this is an answer that my fiance gave me lol)

The Japanese did not have the aircraft to fly the distance to the continental US. Hence, no bombing in the usual sense of the word. However, they did make use of the jetstream by launching balloon on which incenduary bombs hung. They idea being that they would set fire to the forests of the north west. I can't remember if anyone was killed but there were injuries. The closest they came to tradition bombing was a very advanced submarine that carried an aircraft that could be launched from its deck. The war ended just in time!
