  • No they dont have give u 8 hr break if i understand your question right, in mass you need at least 4 hr brk between shifts so for example one day you could 20 hrs and next day do you need 8 hr brk which would give 16hrs then back to 20hr etc
  • Here in Michigan it is 5 hours.
  • There is most likely no law that regulates this. In many states you need to be paid OT if you do not have a minimum time (usually 8 hours) between shifts. However, this does not prevent an employer from scheduling less than 8 hours apart. Also, there are federal laws (and some state laws) regulating this for specialized fields. For example, most common carriers (e.g. truck driving and pilots) have a max period that they can work without a minimum break. But thee laws are the exception, not the rule.
