  • YOu ask a very hard question... You can recieve all the regular answers that are common...yet like you say sometimes you wonder...The important thing out of all things that the Bible teaches is to Believe the Lord Jesus Christ...not just believe in him...but to believe Him...To believe that He is who He said he was and Said he can do...other than that everything else is aurguable...like where is heaven and being "saved" (such a christianese american term) never dying and going to hell and so on and so forth... I believe that we waste so much time argueing over all that stuff and not enough time doing what Christ told us to do...Love one another....we would rather prove everyone wrong and show that our ideals are correct instead of just doing the simple task of loveing one another...If we don't love we don't know God..and if we don't know God...no matter all the things we have done even if in his name and being "Saved" we will not chill with the Lord for eternity... Just my thoughts on all that
  • if sleep is the cousin of death, then its just as much the cousin of life. and since sleep is nothing like life, but still a necessary part of it, i reckon death, and after death, is just as distorted, as it is necessary. but why worry about something as nondescript as the bible and life after death when there are real world problems that are happening today. questions that might just get answered if we think hard enough.
  • Luke 10:25-28 tells us the answer. And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" He said to him "What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?" (Jesus speaking) So he answered and said "You shall love the Lord with all your heart, all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live." ALWAYS go to the Word of God for answers to your questions. Salvation: (Just a few) Ro 10:10, Ac 4:12, 2Co 7:10

  • We are given hints, but like many things, God asks us to trust Him with the details. I particularly like a book by Elizabeth Sherrill called All the Way to Heaven. She looks at heaven like a big gift wrapped box about which God has given us tantalizing hints but he is keeping the surprise for our big day. We are allowed to speculate about it, to shake it and see what it sounds like, to wait in breathless anticipation. But we can never really know the true awesomeness of it until the day comes for us to open the gift, and then it will be more than we can ever imagine. God is waiting excitedly to see our excitement at the wonderful gift He's prepared for us. Remember, this is the same God that created the world we live in now. Granted, its been tainted by evil and its broken, but think how much joy we have now in fall leaves and brilliant blue sky, or mountain streams burbling over rocks, or the sheer awesome power of waves crashing against the shore. We can see God's hand in all this. How much more magnificent will his new creation be without evil?
