Question?
-
But how can we let these children come to a decision on religion if we cannot teach them religion?
-
Minors need to be guided in the way they should go. as it is, children re left to their own devices more than is good for them or society. Interesting you choose a word with very negative connotations in your question, no?

If you're gonna dream, you might as well dream big, I always say

There's a difference between educating a child and brainwashing a child, yes. But it's a bad idea to send a child into the world unequipped to understand religion and make adult choices, and there's no way to write laws so they ONLY target "brainwashing" parents. Besides, that's a case of government crossing the line and interfering too much in the lives of the citizens.

Be careful what you wish for.

Well, they shouldn't be brainwashed into it. They shouldn't even have it told to them until they start to ask questions. Then you can introduce your own beliefs, the beliefs of others, and the opinion of the scientific community. Introduce all of these as possibilities and don't say any are absolute truths. Let the kid make their own decision after they do their own research.
