Only if that is the only connection between your PC and the 'outside world'. Ie, if computer "A" is connected to the internet, and has a firewall, and computer "B" is connected to computer "A", but not directly connected to the internet, the firewall on computer "A" is effectively protecting both computers because any data that gets as far as computer "B" has already been through the firewall on computer "A". However, if computer "B" is connected to the internet without a firewall it is NOT protected by the firewall on computer "A", even if it is on the same network.
