i will be honest that yes i do. i am known to say "that is soooo gay" or my other favorite "that is so super san fransisco" both un-p.c. but meh. i don't even dislike gay people. i just like the word.

I will be honest. I don't. My family has taught me to be very conscous of what I say and I wince whenever I hear it said.

Yes. I don't even think it has the same meaning anymore. I don't even mean "gay" as in homosexual, I mean it as in something that I find ridiculous or stupid. I try not to say it too often, but I picked it up somewhere along the line from hearing it so much. I use it around my friends who are homosexual without a passing though (until after I say it) and it doesn't offend them because they know I am not using the word in that context.

Yep. Mosting in referring things as in: 'that sounds a bit gay to me' not meaning homosexual instead meaning rubbish, crap etc.

Yes I do. I dont dislike homosexual people, but I think this word has also developed a new meaning. If one of my friends says something stupid i'll say "man you're gay". Sorry if it offends anyone. Im not trying.

I don't use it as negative descriptive because the people who i know that do AND are over the age of about 30 are typically homophobes, so they mean gay to be negative even if they are talking about homosexuals. Persons who are a little younger have learned to use it more loosely and it doesn't mean the same to them.

I used a lot at one time. I've sort of phased it out and replaced it with lame. I'll keep using that until it's deemed inappropriate. Unless it already is.

I don't use it in a negative way. I use it to mean happy or flamboyant. Most of our friends are gay men, and I'll even say to them "that was so gay" when they do something that is cliche or a stereotype of a flamboyant gay man. None of them have a problem with it, but I think it's because we've all been freinds for so long. They also say "that's is so hetro" to me sometimes.

I only use it with people who use it themselves, and then normally with a quote marks gesture or a change of tone. I work with a gay man who says "gay" in a negative way!

I used to. All the time. "Oh thats gay." "How gay." But ive realised its wrong so ive stopped.

I used to use it a lot. Then I got a lot of gay friends and it just didn't seem right. Now I almost never call a person gay and rarely calls something or a situation gay. I still think it's a HAPPY word though. Haha. Gaaaaaaay! :)

i dnt really use the term. I never really picked up on it. I don't see any harm in it. This could be because I'm not gay but I mean there are words that have more than one meaning. BD! Being gay isn't really socially accepted so there times when people will use it as a derogatory word. There are some that don't though. I think that ppl that find it offensive should look at the positive side of the situation because ppl will tlk whether you like it or not. Life.

Back in my day, accusing someone of being homosexual was the biggest insult you can call someone. I'm 39, and have never met a homosexual, ever.
