What gave you the first clue? ;-) Sheol does mean "grave", and the misinterpretations as "hell" were popularized in the King James Version of the Bible. http://www.christolog.com/BR_TheProblem.html Punishment is "eternal" only in the sense that the soul would be unable to enjoy eternity in heaven -- NOT that pain and suffering is to go one forever. Only the smoke shall rise up forever, any torment is strictly momentary.
