Have you ever visited the Staue of Liberty? If so, was it before all the security measures, when you could actually go up in it?

I went after the security measures were in place so you could only go on the grassy bit...bummer:-)

The let you to the top of the pedestal now. Kinda lame, but better than nothing.

You can go inside the pedestal, where there is a museum and exhibit of how it was made. Then you can climb 275 steps to the parapet of the pedestal. Pretty cool view from up there.

Back in 1953 I visited Lady Liberty and climbed up into the torch, if I recall correctly. I was ten yers old at the time.

In 1971 I went inide the Statue, up to the crown. It was a nice view.

Yes, but it was like a 4 hour wait so we didn't go up.

Yes, when I was in grade school. Way before 9/11. Couldn't climb up because their was maintenance taking place.
