The Bible deals with homosexuality in a few places, but does it mention anything to do with pedophilia even once? If not, why not, if pedophilia has been a mental plague of mankind since antiquity?

I can't answer that for you with any factual evidence. But, if I were to hazard a guess it would have to be that the writers of the bible had no idea how f'cked up humanity was going to get.

Pedophilia is worthy of deathand those who practice such things will surely bring to themselves the death they deserve. I mean for true pedophiles, not just people who married girls young. In ancient days girls were betrothed at birth many times and married at puberty. It is believed that Mary the mother of Jesus was somewhere between the ages of 13 and 15 at the time of his birth. It was normal practice to marry at the girls "flower" or ripening, or mensus. Our society does not practice this so we assume it is child abuse, unless you are Jerry Lee Lewis or maybe Loretta Lynn. But the point I would like to make on this is that MANY kinds of sins are not specifically mentioned by name, but that doesn't mean they aren't covered in a category that IS. For instance, embezzlement or blowing up a bus, or anhialating an entire species of creature from the face of the earth-FOREVER. the common denominator of every sin and where and how to categorize it, is this-MOTIVE. Why did human beings destroy the ozone, kill entire species, ruin our family structures and become lazy sleep inclined zombies who think we are doing just fine, thank you? It is all because of this- a total lackof understanding of the God who created us and this planet, and our sin nature that very much wants to BE God for us. Hence, we will make decisions based on immediate gratification and greed and fulfilling the various lusts of the flesh as Paul mentions in numerous ways. As to whether pedophilia is specifically named is irelevent. The consequences of harming a child in any way are unto death. I mean deliberate harm, not accidental. Jesus told the disciples to "suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of heaven" Why did he rebuke them? Because they were trying to hold children back from the blessing or being put in his lap and/or being touched and blessed as many of the mothers had been doing in his time as they saw him pass through. Some of the "older folks" probably had the age old idea that children were somehow a bother to "Grownup Conversation" as Jesus was teaching and preaching, and they must be kept silent, out of the way, or probably from asking questions, and interrupting him. HE did NOT see them as less in any way and rebuked that thought process immediately. Now, if Jesus rebuked them for having the nerve to place children in a "lesser value" than adults category simply because adults are important and children must be made to understand that grownups hold all the rule and can hold you back at any time they feel to do so... there is a budding thought process developing that Jesus was going to nip in the bud quickly because pedophilia itself is of a nature to control that which is weaker or helpless or unprotected, by force, manipulation, deception, and of course stealth. After all, a monster cannot perform those despicable acts out on the common square now, can he? He must remove the child from any eyes that may be watching him or her to PROTECT from harm. Jesus was BLESSING those children and with that comes unspoken protection and AUTHORITY to address any violation of that protection He had given them by His Word. A very clear indication of His readiness to punish those who HARM children is this-"Whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depths of the sea" Matthew 18:6 And this- "Take heed that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my father which is in heaven." Matthew 18:10
I cannot see why it could be missed that Jesus is very adamant about the rights of children to be protected and loved at the cost of your soul should you choose to offend one of them..He is deadly serious. Simply think about the nature of any verse you read and put it in context, and think about what the main objective the writers were trying to get across. Then simply realize what all things might fall into that category. Paul lists lots of nasty and abominable things in I Corinthians as well as other chapters. Common sense would tell you that sexual sin is not tolerated. Neither is extortion, rape, oppression, etc., all of which constitute pedophilia. Beastiality is talked about plainly in the old testament too, but is not called beastiality. It is referred to as them that "lie with a beast". Exodus 22:19. No act that forces one individuals will onto another is condoned in the Word. Rather the mutual care for one another and careful watching of ourselves against the temptations of the flesh are what is expected from believers. However, believer or not, you had better believe child abuse from anyone will not be excused by "ignorance" if one tries to plead that they did not know it was "Wrong" to do that. The Word is very clear that our consciences are the witnesses against us that yes, in our hearts we do know right from wrong, and the fact that such things as this are done in secret proves it.

The Bible condemns ritual sexuality associated with idolatry, not anything which today is comparable to a stable, loving relationship between two people of the same gender.

I assume by mental plauge you mean why is pedophilia condemned. There is no such thing as consensual sex between an adult and a child, the parties are not equals, the adult is in a position of power, and the law reflects that.

i think thats cause the romans rewrote the bible, and they were filthy child fuckers. they also practiced beastiality, i dont think the bible mentions that either, or rather they omitted it out if it did, because it would make them seem evil.
