  • It all depends on the case load of the Detective Bureau, or if he patrol officer who took the report is investigating it him/herself and whether the investigator finds any merit in the allegations. As far as you filing a report against them, unless you are arrested and completely exonerated of any wrong doing, you have no recourse, the officer who took the report would have to file a report on them for falsely reporting an incident, and it would depend on how he/she could prove that they filed the report intentionally giving false information. It is a very hard thing to prove, so I would guess that it won't happen. If you are arrested and the allegations turn out to be false, you can go after them civilly.
