Look for "Enemy at the Gate." Excellent flick of the battle for Leningrad.

Tora! Tora! Tora! (http://imdb.com/title/tt0066473/) This one is ab out the events that lead up to and the actual attack on Pearl Harbor. Midway (http://imdb.com/title/tt0074899/) is about the Battle of Midway. Many of the characters in this one are fictitious, but it pretty well covers what actually happened in the battle itself. The HBO miniseries Band of Brothers (http://imdb.com/title/tt0185906/) is also very good. It follows a paratrooper company from their training in England through D-day and on to the end of the war. Ike: Countdown to D-Day (http://imdb.com/title/tt0401504/) follows Eisenhower as he planned and launched the D-day invasion. Then there are also MacArthur (http://imdb.com/title/tt0076342/) and Patton (http://imdb.com/title/tt0066206/) which follow these two generals through their battles in WWII and, in the case of MacArthur, Korea. That should be enough for now. ****************** I just thought of another good one. Windtalkers (http://imdb.com/title/tt0245562/), the only significant criticism of this film that some commentators on the History Channel had was with regard to the order to kill the code talkers rather than allow them to be captured. Apparently there was never such a policy.

A Bridge Too Far

this movie is absolutley inacurate and american biased. from a historical standpoint it is garbage. on the otherhand if you are an american patriot and you want warm fuzzy feelings about how ww2 would have been lost if not for the yanks then indulge yourself.

"Aimee and Jaguar". It's a german film set in WW2 involving a love story between two women. It's a true story and the information presented is mostly accurate. It is a drama and given the subject matter it may or may not be your cup of tea, but it's a great movie about love and war and real sacrifice.
