  • The quote may be different from the final bill. If you have a copy of the final bill, it should agree with the insurance payment and have sufficient detail to be meaningful. If it doesn't have enough detail, or doesn't agree with the payment, notify the insurance company and they will deal with the problem. In either case, you won't get any money out of it. The insurance company is obliged to fix your car, not pad your pocket.
  • That's very strange. Any insurance claims I've ever made, they send the check directly to me. They also go out to inspect the damage to the car and say what amount they'll pay the shop to do it. If the shop agrees, it's all set. Insurance companies usually won't pay almost triple what the repairs cost. They must have determined that $1239 as the cost it would take to repair and the shop agreed.
