Yes, if the person who owns the pumpkins and the property they will be smashed on agree to allowing you to do it. No, if there has not been permission given to smash them or if they are on public property. So, to be sure, you need to make sure you have permission, otherwise, you may get free room and board at the local jail house!

If the pumkins are yours and on your property, that's ok. To walk up and down the street, run up to someone's front porch, grab their pumpkin and smash it, is illegal. Its vandalism and a 100% arrestable charge. If the pumpkins are yours, go for it. if not, leave them alone.

What did the pumpkins ever do to you? What if someone threw you on the ground and you burst open. Wouldn't be so funny then. Acts of vandalism is what you have described. You should be ashamed of yourself for even suggesting such a thing.
