Of course! I've done it myself, especially if I'm driving. I might have 1 or 2 beers, but drink soda/water the rest of the evening. Nuttin' wrong with that!
-
Sure, why not. Do not think anyone would care.
-
Sure, I know many people that do it.
-
I reckon. As long as you aren't me :)
-
Sure. In Europe people go to pubs to meet people and get out of their flat moreso than to just drink and get drunk. Pubs and bars are meeting places to talk and discuss and get out of the house.
-
Certainly...especially if you are the DD!
-
Totally. =D
-
All designated drivers SHOULD do that! Also, I never go to a bar for the beer (or liquor). I go for the company. Good company will appreciate you and not your beverage.
-
Yes ... I do not go often, but when I do, I never consume alcohol.
-
Having worked at a bar, I can tell you , that is common, and I see nothing wrong with it.
-
of course its ok, why not?
-
If I'm the designated dope, yeah yo...
-
Sure, I dont see why not.
-
Sure, I do that. It keeps out of trouble and out of fights. Besides, I love Shirley Temples! But the occasional beer is okay. Lol.
-
I think so..if you are going to a bar to socialize, I guess it is o.k. But if you don't drink, why socialize with people who frequent bars? Wouldn't a bookstore, or library or racetrack or nightschool be a better choice? Happy Thursday! :) ((hugs))
-
Of course it's okay, I've done that plenty of times.
-
Yes. We have the right to say "No"
-
You can drink whatever you like.
-
Around here if you go to a bar and tell them you are the DD they will give you free pop all night.
-
I sure do :)
-
I don't drink, so whenever someone drags me to a bar, its what I do.
-
Why not? If you're comfortable in your sobriety, why not have fun with your friends who feel they need it to be social?
-
Yes, especially if you're with friends who drink alcoholic beverages because then you can be their designated driver.
-
most definately, and I think more peopel should.......
-
Yep! I did this many times - especially when I was the designated driver. I KNOW when it's MY TURN to party, have a good time AND raise the devil, I'LL ALWAYS be able to depend on someone seeing I get home safe and sound! OR I can always go to sleep in some safe place! -
Sure. Drinking alcoholic beverages is not compulsory.
-
Yes! Better for driving after!
-
thats freedom of choice
-
Yep :)
-
Sure... If you want to spend the extra money for the ambiance (ANY drinks in bars are not cheap!), they aren't going to complain. Besides, if you're with someone else, SOME bars will GIVE you the drink, as the designated driver. ;-)
-
Why wouldn't it be?
-
Sad but OK
-
depends on the time of day and if you are driving i guess
-
DRINK NON-ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
-
Yeah, why not?
-
Sure if a person is a designated driver or a non-drinker who wants to hang out with friends.
-
Yes. One goes not only for the booze, but for the atmosphere and clientele! Enjoy!
-
Of course, why wouldn't it be. :-)
-
That's like going to church to pray to Satan. I'm all for it.
-
Yes, it all depends upon why you are going to the bar. If you are going to get drunk, that is one thing. If you are going to see friends, it does not matter if you drink soft drinks, water, coffee, whatever. Understand your reasons for being there. If you do drink alcohol, drink responsibly. :-)
-
Yeah, Being the designated driver. +5
-
Yep.
-
yes, but you'll still pay high prices for any non alcohol.
-
Absolutely...probably smarter too!
-
Sure, some bars will even give them to you for free if you're a "designated driver". +5
-
Why not? They're largely to socialize, no? I mean just plain booze is cheaper at home! ;-)
-
Of course it is, especially if you are the designated driver for others.
-
I do so all the time just to test out the quality of the people (both staff and the crowd) in that bar. If the staff has a problem with you being there sober, then they shouldn't be working there because they're just pushers. If a customer has a problem with you being sober and staff won't intervene, then that place is badly managed and best avoided.
-
Yes, I always do that because I don't drink alcohol
-
Sure it is. If you don't want to drink alcohol, but your friends do, or if you're the designated driver, it's perfectly fine to drink sodas or water at a bar. I have even heard of bars offering free sodas for the designated driver.
-
I do all the time.
-
Of course its okay. If it wasn't they wouldn't serve non alcoholic drinks.
-
Yes, you can buy coffee, tea, soft drinks, bottled water and energy drinks.
