Anthony Green pronounced it 'say ocean' back in high school long before the band formed. The phrase is taken from the chinese 'Xiao Xin' which literally means 'small heart.' Anthony had heard it one day and liked the meaning so used the name for most bands he was in, and even for songs he wrote. When Saosin started to gain in popularity more and more people began pronouncing it 'say-oh-sin' so the name stuck that way. Now that Anthony has left you'll find that the rest of the band (including new lead singer Cove Reber) will refer to themselves as 'say-oh-sin' but yes, you're right. The band have said several times that they don't care what you call them, it's the music that they are bothered about and if you enjoy and identify with it, that's all that matters.
