  • check out http://www.omegadrivers.net/ they have tweaked drivers for both nvidia and ati, has helped me many times to play games i otherwise wouldnt
  • You may also be able to overclock the GPU on your video card. Nvidia and ATI used to both have software to automatically do this for you, not sure if they still do. Sad, I should probably know that but I don't ever have a need to OC things except CPUs for fun.
  • Overclocking, is quite literally, removing the safe guards that prevent your hardware from overheating. Overclocking is dangerious as it can, and likely will damage your card. I really want to play AOC, but not to the point where I'll risk damaging my computer to do so. If your going to recommand Overclocking to someone, you should really explain WHAT overclocking is, and point out the risks that it involves. I took a class on computers, plus have a dad who makes computers as a hobby. So luckily I've learned about the dangers of Overclocking. But not everyone does, so if your going to recommand it to someone, point out its dangerious first.
  • These is taken directly from the link you gave me. You just proved yourself wrong. "Overclocking is the process of forcing a computer component to run at a higher clock rate than it was designed for or was designated by the manufacturer," Thats removing safe guards. "There are several considerations when overclocking. The first consideration is to ensure that it is supplied with adequate power to operate at the new speed. However, supplying the power with improper settings or applying excessive voltage can permanently damage a component." "All electronic circuits produce heat generated by the movement of electrons. As clock frequencies in digital circuits increase, the heat generated by over clocked components also increases. Due to increased heat produced by overclocked components, an effective cooling system is necessary to avoid damaging the hardware" Thats dangerious. As I said before. Before telling someone to Overclock something, make sure you tell them that dangers. Before one Overclocks, they should have a proper cooling system. My cooling system is the standard one built in by the factory, so I doubt it's made to handle Overclocking. And I'd rather just buy a better graphic card, then go buy a new cooling system.
