I sleep with a stuffed animal my dad gave me when i was born he passed away 5 months later now 18yrs later i still sleep with my bear i cant fall asleep without it next to me is it wrong to still sleep with my teddy bear now that im getting older

Future boyfriends may find it a it off putting, maybe he could sit on a table in your room ?. But you do whatever makes you happy :-)

It's not wrong. Do what makes you happy. It's your life and if having a teddy bear next to you helps you to rest then by all means do it. Who cares what anyone else may think of it.

It's not wrong, but as someone else said boyfriends might find it a bit off putting. Lot's of people have throwback behaviours from childhood. I knew someone who sucked her thumb when she was asleep, so she couldn't stop it... she was married. I can't sleep without sucking my tongue, due to the fact I had a pacifier to help me sleep until I was 7. If you want to overcome needing the bear in the bed with you, try putting him on your bedside table.

I am 18 as well, and I too still sleep with a stuffed animal dog. I got him as a gift when I was born, and cannot sleep without him. My boyfriend has no problem with it, and will help me find him in the middle of the night when I wake up without my dog. I recently spent a night at home, and actually had to drive back to my school dorm (which is relatively close) to gram my dog, so I could sleep that night. When I ask my boyfriend if he thinks its weird that I still sleep with it, he says it is, but he understand the true meaning behind it, and if someone is going to make fun of you for it, then they didn't have a true childhood, because I don't know anyone who didn't have a stuffed animal or imaginary friend. no, idont think its wrong. im an 18 yo male and still cant sleep without my tedie and pacifier. dont think its a big deal, and most of my frends dont care ether. enjoy your tedie. :-) BabyMunkee MWAH XOXOXo

I slept with a teddy my daddy gave me until I was 16. I had a kind of "security blanket" (really an old sleeping bag with a broken zipper) that I couldn't sleep without even longer than that. In fact, the I only got rid of my old sleeping bag when I got married and moved in with my hubby. There are enough things in this world to worry about. Don't deny yourself things that bring you harmless comfort. ^_^

I don't think it's wrong. You are still young. Some of my college classmates still slept with animals. One even had a set of carebears (hugs and tugs). I did it, too, while I was in college, usually with a stuffed animal that a boyfriend gave me. So I don't think guys will mind if you sleep with a stuffed animal, especially if they know the significance behind it. You'll give it up when you're ready.

No it's great! really charming. I have one called Clifford! a puppet and he's soooo cute!i think it makes me unusual and charming and i always say if we ever went in anything like 'Big Brother' we'de get somewhere! as we're so different!..you go Cliffy!!!. If boyfriends are a bit put off so what? bears rule!. And anyway it's what your Dad who's now sadly died gave you. No it is SWEET.
